President-elect Donald Trump has complained about the decision to fly American flags at half-staff in honor of the late President Jimmy Carter during his inauguration on January 20.
President Joe Biden ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for 30 days from the day of Carter's death on December 29.
Trump, in a post on Truth Social, accused Democrats of being satisfied that flags will remain at half-staff during his inauguration.
"Democrats are all 'upset' that our wonderful American flag will potentially be at 'half-mast' during my inauguration. They think it's so wonderful and they're so happy about it because, actually, they don't want it our country, they only think about themselves. Nobody wants to see that, and no American can be happy about that. Let's see how it plays out," Trump said.
