A gaffe by the former Secretary of State for Home Affairs in the United Kingdom, Suella Braverman, has created epic reactions on social networks.
Braverman, speaking on LBC radio, said "Italy has managed to slow the flow of migrants by building a wall on its border with Turkey and patrolling it with drones". The statement of the Conservative MP, famous for her extreme attitudes towards immigrants, has sparked irony and controversy in the United Kingdom.
"Italy has strengthened its borders. They have built a wall. I went to see that wall. They have built a wall on the land border between Italy and Turkey. They have drones. They have armored vehicles. They have soldiers crossing the border." she expressed.

Braverman's statements immediately brought reactions on the network, with users asking how she managed to go and see a wall on a border that could not exist.
"Suella Braverman claims she was on the land border between Italy and Turkey and saw a wall! An extraordinary claim considering the countries are not neighbors!" wrote Sunder Katwala.
Writer Tim Brannigan simply posted a picture of a map with Italy and Turkey circled, clearly showing that they are not close. Other users joked that Braverman had to retake the geography exam in high school and wondered how he became Secretary of the Interior.
Great to join @LBC this morning.

Thanks for all your great calls. Good discussions on small boats, Israel and Labour's education policies.

And, obviously I meant Greece's land border with Turkey which I was honored to visit. It's been very… https://t.co/JutbiSJj6i
Braverman himself was later forced to admit that he had made a mistake. "Of course, I was talking about the land border between Greece and Turkey, which I had the honor to visit. It was a great success!", he wrote in X.
