The journalist in Gaza takes off his protective vest: The bombings are not

Gaza bombings and fighting are becoming dangerous not only for Palestinian civilians, but also for journalists and aid workers.

"We can't take it anymore, we are exhausted", were the words of a Palestinian journalist in Gaza, who stopped his reporting and threw away his protective equipment.

Earlier one of his colleagues and 11 members of his family were killed in their home in Gaza. The Al Jazeera correspondent takes off his helmet and vest, while the presenter in the studio could not hold back her tears.

"There is no international protection or immunity. These vests and helmets do not protect us. It's just a word (referring to the writing PRESS on the clothing of journalists covering war zones), which does absolutely nothing to protect any journalist. We are also victims here. They kill us one after the other at zero cost. We are just waiting for our turn. Our colleague, Mohammad Abu Hattab, was here 30 minutes ago and now he is dead along with his wife, his brother. And many other members of his family are victims inside the hospital," he added.

He also stressed that the Israeli bombardment has become unbearable for the residents of Gaza. "No one cares about us or the widespread destruction and crimes in Gaza," he added, breaking into tears. According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), a total of 36 journalists have lost their lives in the clashes in Gaza.
