The spokesman of the White House, John Kirby, could not hide his sadness for the victims of the war that broke out in Israel. Unable to hold back his tears, he apologized to the reporter.

When the host described images showing women and children covered in blood, Kirby couldn't help himself.

Pausing for a few seconds before launching into his response, the White House spokesman said "it's very difficult to see these images."

"They are people, we are talking about relatives, cousins, brothers, lovers. We are talking about human loss. It is difficult and I apologize," he said.
