The Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, has once again demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages from Hamas.
“More than 100 days have passed since more than 1,200 people were killed in the horrific terrorist attacks launched by Hamas against Israel and more than 250 people were held hostage. I again demand the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages," Guterres wrote.
Guterres said a few days ago at the meeting of the G7 countries that this group of countries is an important cooperation and development mechanism for the countries of the South.
"Today, you are the largest group in the global south and represent 80% of the world's population. Your solidarity and cooperation is essential for building a sustainable, peaceful and just world for all," said Guterres.
According to Guterres, a reform of the UN Security Council is needed to ensure that southern countries are better represented.
