The former Mayor of Niš, Dragana Sotirovski, was reportedly arrested at the Presevo border crossing between Serbia and North Macedonia while attempting to enter Serbia.
The former mayor is believed to have traveled from Greece, where according to unofficial information she has a house, Nova.rs reports.
As part of an ongoing anti-corruption operation, members of the Criminal Police Directorate arrested three people on Friday morning in Niš - the owner of the company Sin Puk Gradnja and the owners of the company Vodomonteri Lalinac.
They are believed to have worked with Sotirovski to embezzle several million euros from the city budget.
