The commander of the Basij paramilitary organization, which operates under the "umbrella" of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike.
The Israeli Armed Forces announced that they had killed the commander of the Basij paramilitary organization, Gholamreza Soleimani, in night raids.
According to the Israeli military, Gholamreza Soleimani was killed while in a tent in an open-air camp set up by the Basij organization, after some of its headquarters were destroyed in the attacks.

In addition, the attack resulted in the deaths of the deputy commander of the Basij and other senior officials of the paramilitary organization, the Israeli military said.
This particular organization, which has been led by Iran's current supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, for years, is one of the main forces participating in the brutal suppression of Iranian protesters.
