Iranian authorities denied that they had held talks with the United States to end the war, describing the reports as untrue and motivated to influence international markets.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran has not held any negotiations with Washington and that the country's position on the Strait of Hormuz and the conditions for ending the conflict remain unchanged. His statements were carried by the state-run IRNA news agency.

He stressed that Iran has received messages from several countries considered friendly, which have forwarded a request from the United States to start talks. According to Baghaei, Tehran's response has been a warning of "serious consequences" in the event of attacks on the country's vital infrastructure.

The statements come after the stance of US President Donald Trump, who had claimed that there were contacts with senior Iranian officials and that the initiative for dialogue had come from the Iranian side.

Tehran's official position was also reiterated by the Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who stated that no talks have been held with the United States.

These developments point to a blatant contradiction between the parties' statements, while tensions in the region continue and diplomatic efforts remain unclear.
