The United States has set a clear deadline for ending the current conflict, targeting April 9 as the moment to end the war, Israeli media outlet Ynet reports, citing an Israeli source, following statements by US President Donald Trump.
According to this source, the deadline set by Washington leaves a period of just over two weeks for military developments and diplomatic efforts, adding to the pressure on the parties to reach an agreement.
The same source points out that negotiations between Iran and the United States are expected to take place this week in Pakistan, in an effort to open a channel of dialogue and avoid further escalation of the conflict.
However, according to the report, the US has not informed Israel about possible contacts with the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf, who is mentioned as one of the key figures in these diplomatic efforts.
The Israeli source also suggests a political dimension to the aforementioned deadline. According to him, ending the war on April 9 would allow President Trump to visit Israel on Independence Day and receive a state award.
These developments point to an intensification of international efforts to reach a rapid solution, while it remains unclear whether the mentioned deadline is realistic given the current conditions of tensions in the region.
