Iran's top security official, Ali Larijani, said that Iran will not back down until US President Donald Trump himself apologizes for the mistake made.
In comments directed at Trump, with the hashtag "TrumpMustPay," Larijani rejected the idea that the US would win the war quickly.
"Iran will not rest until it apologizes to US President Donald Trump for his grave miscalculation. Trump says he is looking for a quick victory. While starting a war is easy, it cannot be won with a few tweets ," he said.
Even Iran's new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, said today that the US and Israel must pay "compensation" for their actions.
On the other hand, Trump has stated that there have been phone calls from Iran to reach a ceasefire, but that he has rejected them.
