The British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, has expressed his concern, as a possible Israeli military attack is expected in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian refugees have taken shelter there, while Cameron calls for a ceasefire. He emphasizes that help and the removal of the hostages is necessary, and then a long and permanent pause.
"I am deeply concerned about the possibility of a military offensive in Rafah. More than half of Gaza's population has taken refuge in the area. The priority must be an immediate pause in the fighting to allow aid to arrive and the hostages to leave, and then to continue towards a stable and permanent ceasefire" , he writes on the social network "X".
Israel insists on the need to intervene in Rafah, which it considers the last stronghold of Hamas.
