Israel resumes attacks on Iran, here's what satellite images reveal

Israel has launched a new series of attacks on Iran. According to the BBC, explosions are being heard across Iran as a result of the Israeli attacks.

The Israeli Air Force, in a post on "X", announces that it is continuing to "attack missile launchers and infrastructure" in Iran.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, says the strikes are a "necessary action," adding that "the Iranian threat has taken a dramatic turn" in recent months.

The first satellite images from Iran show clear signs of damage at the Natanz nuclear facility.

Natanz is important because it is the main site for large-scale uranium enrichment.

The image was captured by the US company Umbra Space using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), rather than more conventional methods. The result is a high-resolution black-and-white image of the Earth's surface.

The benefit of this technology is that it overcomes cloud cover, which can often obscure images captured by conventional satellites.

In one of the areas, we can see at least four damaged buildings. We are also consulting with experts to understand what these structures may have been used for, the BBC reports.

What is clear from the images is that these were very precise strikes. Buildings that were not directly targeted appear to have suffered minimal or no damage.
