After Iran attack, Netanyahu to speak with Trump and Putin

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to hold talks with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, his office said, following the attacks on Iran.

Netanyahu has already spoken with the leaders of Germany, India and France, his office said.

"The leaders showed understanding for Israel's need to defend itself from the Iranian threat of annihilation," Netanyahu's office said in a statement.

"France reaffirms Israel's right to defend itself and to guarantee its security," stressed Emmanuel Macron, recalling that it has "constantly condemned" the Iranian nuclear program.

"In order not to endanger the stability of the entire region, I ask the parties for maximum restraint and a reduction in tensions," the French president added in a post on the social network X, explaining that he had spoken today with US President Donald Trump, as well as the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, the king of Jordan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, the emir of Qatar, the chancellor of Germany and the prime minister of Britain.

The French head of state is expected to give a press conference "on the international situation at the end of the day" today from the Elysee Palace, the French presidency announced, without specifying the time at the moment.

In a post on the official account of the Islamic Republic of Iran on X, Tehran warns that within a few hours the largest missile and drone operation in history will take place, something that will be revealed "before your eyes."

With this warning of what will follow, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, announced that Operation "True Promise 3" has begun.

"This will not be a simple demonstration of will or technological capability. This time, our response will be deadly," they say on Iran's official Facebook page.

Iranian President Masoud Peskov said in a message to the nation that "Iran's legitimate and strong response will make Israel regret its foolish act." He also called on Iranian citizens to trust their leadership and stand by them.

Earlier, Ali Khamenei appointed a new chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces and a new commander of the Revolutionary Guard, following the deaths of their predecessors during the Israeli attack.
