The Dutch police have seized a quantity of cocaine worth 13 million euros. It is learned that the cocaine was hidden inside two coffins and was found during a police raid in a southern province of Holonda on December 13.
A 30-year-old suspect from Rotterdam was arrested, while the National Expertise and Operations unit of the Dutch Police said in a statement that the suspect "was driving a van with French license plates on the highway near Numansdorp and displayed suspicious behavior while driving.
When they stopped the driver and demanded an explanation, he claimed to be transporting two coffins, which he told police contained dead bodies.
"However, the documents were not checked," the police added.
"Our colleagues then went to a company that conducts funeral services to verify. There it was discovered that the coffins contained sports bags with more than 250 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of 13 million euros. The man has been arrested and the drugs have been destroyed ," the Dutch police confirmed.
