US President Donald Trump, in a press conference with reporters at the White House, stated that Iran had failed to place any mines in the Strait of Hormuz and that the US had destroyed almost all of their ships.

"We destroyed almost all of their mine ships in one night. Almost their entire navy is gone," he said, suggesting that up to 60 Iranian ships had been hit.

Trump also encouraged tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz, insisting it is safe despite attacks on three ships in the waterway earlier in the day. Iran claimed responsibility for the attack on at least two of those ships.

" I think they should use the strait ," Trump said.

The US president warned that the US could cause significant additional damage to Iran's infrastructure, suggesting that the US could eliminate them... within an hour.

Asked what more needs to be done militarily to end the war with Iran, Trump told reporters at the White House: "More of the same ." He pointed to losses to Iran's navy, air force, anti-aircraft missile system and leadership.

"We're leaving some things that if we take them away, or we can take them away by this afternoon, in fact, within an hour, they'll literally never be able to rebuild that country. We've hit them harder than any other country in history, and we're not done yet ," Trump said.

He further praised the military operation and warned that more significant attacks would occur in the coming hours.

" We've hit them harder than any other country in history, and we're not done yet ," he said.

Meanwhile, Trump declined to comment today on the ascension of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, as Iran's supreme leader and what that means for US victory in the conflict.

A reporter asked him during a meeting in front of the White House if he could declare victory in this war if the supreme leader remains the son of the ayatollah?

Trump responded: "I don't want to comment on that. I don't want to comment."/ Pamphlet
