Iranian state television, while broadcasting footage of Donald Trump after his assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, issued a direct threat.
"This time the bullet will not fail," the inscription says.
According to a human rights organization, more than 3,400 people have been killed by Iranian security forces during a brutal crackdown on protests. Meanwhile, the United States is evacuating hundreds of troops from its largest military base in the Middle East, due to fears that the Iranian regime could retaliate after a possible attack.
The Norway-based NGO for Human Rights in Iran (IHR) also reported that over 10,000 people have been arrested.
Donald Trump has warned that he will take "strong measures" against Iran if the regime executes protesters. On the other hand, Iran has declared that it will respond to enemy attacks "to the last drop of blood."
Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh declared that his country is fully prepared to defend itself in case of attack.
"If these threats turn into action, we will defend the country with full force and to the last drop of blood. Our defense will be painful for them," he told local media.
Meanwhile, Erfan Soltani, 26, is expected to become the first person executed during these demonstrations. He will reportedly be hanged on Wednesday morning, local time.
