Reza Pahlavi accuses Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of "involving Iran in war" with Israel and described the government in Tehran as "weak and divided."
In a post on X, the exiled son of Iran's deposed monarch calls for an uprising.
He told Iranians it was “time to rise up; time to take back Iran.” “The regime's mechanism of repression is collapsing. All that is needed now is a nationwide uprising to end this nightmare once and for all,” he said.
Pahlavi declared the regime's fall "irreversible," describing the moment as a historic turning point for the Iranian people. "The future is bright and together we will overcome this sharp turn in history," he said. "In these difficult days, my heart goes out to all the defenseless citizens who have been hurt and have fallen victim to Khamenei's ideology and warlike illusions."
Pahlavi, who has long supported a secular and democratic Iran, called the regime's fall inevitable and necessary. He described the Islamic Republic as a system that had waged a "46-year war against the Iranian nation" and stressed that its security and repressive apparatus was collapsing.
He called on the army and state security forces to stand "with the people" and "play a historic role in the transition from the Islamic Republic" to a democracy.
"The Islamic Republic has reached its end and is in the process of collapse. Khamenei, like a frightened mouse, hid underground and lost control of the situation. What has begun is irreversible," he stressed.
Reza Pahlavi, who lives in exile near Washington, has said he does not necessarily seek the restoration of the monarchy, but has long supported the Iranian people's movement for secular democracy.
In a recent letter to President Trump, he even emphasized that he should show no trust in the regime in Tehran.
The Islamic Republic has come to its end and is collapsing. What has begun is irreversible. The future is bright, and together we will turn the page of history. Now is the time to stand up; the time to reclaim Iran. May I be with you soon. pic.twitter.com/qrbnDmf8SX
