Russian President Vladimir Putin may decide not to hold presidential elections next year because he will win "clearly"
This is what Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Russian news agency RBC.
Putin is expected to announce his candidacy for a sixth presidential term. Pre-war constitutional amendments allow him to remain president until 2036.
" Although elections are a condition of democracy and Putin himself decided to hold them, it is theoretically possible that they will not be held. Because it is already clear that Putin will be elected , "said Peskov.
