The World Health Organization said it was forced to cancel the delivery of medical supplies to northern Gaza today after receiving no assurances of safety.
The WHO writes that aid delays will lead to the death and suffering of many people.
"It's been 12 days since we last managed to reach northern Gaza.
Heavy attacks, movement restrictions and disrupted communications are making it nearly impossible to safely deliver medical supplies across Gaza, especially in the north. The WHO said the shipment planned for Sunday was designed to support the operations of five hospitals in the northern part of the enclave.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was “shocked by the scale of health needs and destruction in northern Gaza. Delays will lead to further death and suffering for many," the WHO office in the Palestinian territories wrote on platform X.
