At least 555 people have been killed in Iran since the US-Israeli strikes began on Saturday morning, state media reported, citing the Red Crescent Society, up from a previous estimate of around 200.
This number includes at least 165 people killed at a girls' school in southern Iran, according to IRNA.
Across the Middle East, dozens of people have been killed as Iran launches retaliatory attacks and the war widens:
Three American soldiers have been killed in the Iranian operation, with five others seriously wounded, US Central Command announced yesterday.
The death toll in Israel is 11, including nine people killed in a rocket attack on a synagogue in Beit Shemesh, which also injured 28 people.
At least 31 people have been killed in Lebanon this morning as Israel and the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah exchange attacks, with 149 people injured, according to the country's health ministry.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military says "all options are on the table" as it considers a ground invasion of Lebanon.
IDF spokeswoman Effie Defrin said at a press conference that Israel was "well prepared" for such a scenario.
He said Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon, "made a very bad mistake" by choosing to attack Israel at night.
"The IDF will react very quickly and will pay a heavy price," he said.
"Hezbollah opened fire on us last night. It knew exactly what it was doing. We warned them that it will pay a very heavy price for this."
Therefore, Israel's defense minister said that Hezbollah leader Naim Kassem was now a "target for elimination."
