French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that any attempt at regime change in Iran would lead to "chaos" in the Middle East, taking a swipe at Trump.
Macron said that US President Donald Trump has a crucial role in resuming diplomacy with Tehran and says he believes the US president is in favor of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
"I believe we need the United States of America to bring everyone back to the negotiating table ," Macron said.
Recall that "CNN" reported that Trump is moving away from the path of diplomacy and is seriously considering the possibility of direct military intervention if Tehran does not accept new conditions. He has convened the National Security Council and a decision is expected.
Trump also said the United States "knows exactly where" Khamenei is, calling him an "easy target," but stressed that at the moment there will be no order to kill him.
"He is safe there, we will not kill him... at least not now ," Trump wrote.
