Is the US ready to get involved in war? "CNN": Trump is considering

Iran's weakening, US towards involvement in conflict...

US President Donald Trump is moving closer to the idea of using military force to strike Iran's nuclear facilities, as his rhetoric becomes increasingly warmongering.

According to CNN sources close to the White House, Trump is moving away from diplomacy and is seriously considering the possibility of direct military intervention if Tehran does not accept new conditions. He has convened the National Security Council and a decision is expected.

“I am no longer in the mood to negotiate with Iran,” Trump told reporters on his return from the G7 summit in Canada, adding that his goal is not a ceasefire, but a complete end. In his posts on Truth Social, he demanded “unconditional surrender” from the Iranian regime and stressed that the United States knows exactly where the supreme leader is, but will not eliminate him, at least not yet.

The developments come as Israel has stepped up calls for greater American involvement in the campaign to destroy Iran's nuclear program. So far, Trump has been careful not to get drawn into a new war in the Middle East, but recent signals suggest he is changing course.

Vice President JD Vance said the president could take further steps to stop Iran's nuclear enrichment, a clear signal that he is preparing to take action. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts mediated by Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been intense but have not yielded results. The Iranian Foreign Ministry has said it is not aware of any new round of talks.

In a private call, Senator Lindsey Graham urged Trump to act decisively to end the Iranian nuclear issue, noting that four previous presidents have promised to do so, but none have followed through. Graham stressed that if heavy bombs or American aircraft must be used in cooperation with Israel, then so be it, as the consequences of inaction would be extraordinary.

Trump, back in the White House, also posted a message from his ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, who asked him to listen to the voice from above, inviting him to be open to divine intervention.

At the same time, Trump is trying to appease the isolationist wing of his supporters, who are against getting involved in another war abroad, while he himself continues to emphasize that Iran is very close to producing a nuclear weapon, despite the more cautious assessments of American intelligence services.

When asked if the US was confident it could destroy Iranian underground bunkers with its bombs, Trump replied: "There's nothing guaranteed," but added that if American soldiers were hit, the response would be merciless. / CNN
