France does not plan to participate in the “Peace Board” initiated by US President Donald Trump, at least “at this stage”, despite having received an official invitation to join. The news was confirmed to the Associated Press by a source close to President Emmanuel Macron, who preferred to remain anonymous.
This cautious rejection comes at a time when the “Peace Board” is being positioned as one of the key structures for managing the next phase of the plan for Gaza. According to the draft made public by the Trump administration, the board will oversee the Gaza executive committee, which will be responsible for implementing the plan’s core points – including the disarmament of Hamas, the deployment of an international security force, and the reconstruction of Palestinian territory.
According to the French official, the creation of this board has raised a number of serious questions, especially regarding respect for the principles and structures of the United Nations. Concerns have grown in Paris that a parallel structure to the UN, led by a US administration that has traditionally had critical positions on multilateralism, could undermine existing international institutions and increase diplomatic discord.
In addition to France, invitations to participate in this board have also been sent to Russia, Belarus and Thailand. The selection of these countries has provoked mixed reactions in many Western capitals, while a senior Israeli official has stated emphatically to local media that the initiative “is harmful to Israel and should be canceled.”
Critics of the board warn that its composition, which includes actors with conflicting interests and controversial histories in the Middle East region, could lead to more tension than resolution. So far, the inclusion of countries with favorable attitudes towards Hamas or ambiguous positions on the conflict has deepened political divisions over the legitimacy and goals of this structure.
While the White House has not yet commented on France's rejection, sources close to the Trump administration have said that the board will continue to be constituted and assume its role in the post-conflict process, despite the reservations of some allies.
Ne vend te Makronit mund te cojme edhe Berishen .Mendoj qe te dy Rama e Bersha jane te domosdoshem ne kete bord dhe do ta zgjidhin planin e paqes ne Palestine.
