Macedonian judge Gjoko Ristov had 350,000 euros found in the wall of his parents' house. This amount is after the action of the North Macedonian financial police.
"As part of an investigation led by the Basic Public Prosecution Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, a raid was carried out last weekend at a location in Negotino. The actions were carried out under the direction of the Financial Police Directorate, in coordination with the competent public prosecutor," the interior ministry announced.
Judge Ristov is on duty at the Court of Appeal in Skopje, and he is charged with the criminal offenses of: Illegal gain and concealment of assets.
The 350,000 euros found are suspected to stem from illegal activities related to corruption and influence peddling, the Financial Police announced.
Judge Gjoko Ristov's name was previously linked to Fehmi Stafa, the former ombudsman, who is currently in custody on suspicion of receiving a 50,000 euro bribe.
Gjoko Ristov is wanted, and there is still no information about his whereabouts.
