United States President Donald Trump stated that he does not consider Mojtaba Khamenei to be the leader of Iran, highlighting the lack of clear information on his condition and public activity.

"He's not reachable; nobody knows what happened to him. They've never seen him, there's something wrong. I don't consider him a leader," Trump told reporters, according to international media reports.

His statements come at a time of heightened uncertainty in Iran, following the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as Supreme Leader on March 8, 2026, following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, in an airstrike during the conflict in the region.

Since taking office, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public, fueling speculation about his health and fitness to serve. Some reports suggest he may have been seriously injured in the attacks, although Iranian authorities have not provided full details.

In this context, the US administration has also signaled difficulties in identifying a clear leading figure in Tehran, while developments are related to ongoing tensions and attempts at indirect negotiations between the parties.

Trump's statements reflect not only his political stance toward the Iranian leadership, but also broader international uncertainty over the current power structure in Iran.
