The phone call predicted by Corriere from Pier Silvio Berlusconi, who apologized and swore he knew nothing about Giambruno's outbursts captured by Striscia, did not erase all the shadows. In Meloni's inner circle, no one believes that it is possible that the Berlusconi's have sewn plots, but it is hard to believe that the CEO of Mediaset was not informed by Antonio Ricci.
The prime minister's reaction also affects an iron ally such as Forza Italia.
However, Antonio Tajani appears calm about the developments.
"There are those who play to destroy the government, but the relations between me and Meloni remain very solid", said the Italian Foreign Minister.
