
Russia has announced the evacuation of residents from a neighborhood of the Belgorod region, on the border with Ukraine, while the incursion of Kiev's forces into the nearby Kursk region continues.
"The morning promises to be alarming for us. There is enemy activity on the border of the Krasnoyaruzhsky district," Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a video posted on Telegram.
"For the safety of life and health of our population, we are starting the evacuation of the residents of this district" , he added.
The fire that broke out yesterday at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia has been completely extinguished, the region's pro-Russian authorities confirmed overnight. Earlier, Russian nuclear power company Rosatom said a cooling tower at the plant suffered serious damage due to two strikes by Ukrainian military drones, calling it an act of nuclear terrorism.
The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, assured for his part that "there is no impact on nuclear safety" after what happened in Zaporizhzhia. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the fire at the plant was started by Russian invaders.
