The heirs of Silvio Berlusconi

Silvio Berlusconi's heirs, his five children, have decided to sell most of their real estate.

The former Prime Minister of Italy, head of the Forza Italia party, who died on June 12, 2023, began his career in the real estate sector by building the Milan 2 district.

The children of Silvio Berlusconi, who died in June 2023, have decided to sell most of his villas, except for the 3,500 square meter Villa San Martino in Arkore near Milan, where he spent the last days of his life. According to the Italian newspaper Il sole 24 ore, the value of Berlusconi's assets is about 800 million euros and their sale should facilitate the division of the inheritance and not the division of real estate, of which there are more than 100.

All properties, apartments and villas bring high monthly costs for water and electricity, which for only three villas like that of Sardinia, followed by the lake, Côte d'Azur and Brianca, exceed one million euros per year.

Berlusconi's children want to sell all the villas except the prime minister's residence where he has lived for 50 years, Villa San Martino, where the family mausoleum is located.

As Ansa agency reports, Villa Gerneto, an 18th-century mansion with a large park near Lezmo in Brijanka, is for sale, where Marta Fašina and Silvio Berlusconi were symbolically married in 2022. This villa is owned by Fininvest and its price is about 44.8 million euros, and Berlusconi wanted the villa to become a University of Free Thought during his lifetime.

Also for sale is Villa Certoza, a large building on the Costa Smeralda that costs between 250 and 300 million euros, as well as two villas on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, which were planned to be sold even before the opening of the will. For sale were Grande in ancient Appia in Rome, Villa La Lampara in Cana with 500 square meters and sea views, Villa Campari in Leza on Lake Maggiore and Villa Tòo Palms on the island of Lampedusa. Economist Gianni Profita offered three million euros for this 250 square meter villa.

Berlusconi owned not only villas, but also lots of land, fields on the Costa Turquoise near Oblia, where the former prime minister wanted to build a large resort with villas and golf courses. Berlusconi also had about 100 apartments in Milan, as well as the Fjama cinema in Rome. Berlusconi's heirs are also open to offers for two yachts, Morning Glory and Sweet Dragon.

In recent days there have been rumors that Berlusconi's son, Pier Silvio Berlusconi, owner of the Mediaset television company, wants to buy the Villa Grande in Rome in Appia Antica, which his father bought for four million euros in 2001 and gave to the director and friend. Franco Zeffirelli for use until 2019. His sister Barbara is interested in Villa Belvedere in McCarey, where she lived for a long time with her children and mother Veronia Lario before the divorce. Eldest daughter Marina is interested in Villa Campari on Lake Maggiore, bought in 2008, which features 30 rooms and a lovely park.

Berlusconi has often stayed at the Gracioli Palace in Rome, one of his residences from 1995 to 2020, which a few days ago became the headquarters of the Association of Foreign Correspondents in Italy. At the ceremonial opening of the new headquarters, one of the journalists discovered a secret door, which is actually a secret passage.

Journalist Tom Kington, writing for the Times, pointed out on Twitter that this probably prevented guests from sneaking out of the parties for which Berlusconi was famous.

In the book "Il rancore e la speranza Bruno Vespa", the eldest daughter of Marina, the president of Fininvest, declared that Villa San Martino should remain a place of family gathering.

"Our father loved life, light, closeness to people. Villa San Martino must remain as such, the headquarters of our business meetings, but also a place where the family comes together. That's what he would want if he were alive."
