Israel's military operation in Iran will continue without a time limit, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday morning during a meeting at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) headquarters in Tel Aviv.
According to Katz, the military campaign will continue until all its objectives are achieved. “This operation will continue without any time limit, until we achieve all objectives and decisively win the campaign,” he said.
However, the Defense Minister did not specify clear military objectives for the operation that Israel has dubbed “Roaring Lion.” In his statements, he also emphasized that Iran’s political future depends on the Iranian citizens themselves.
"We must continue this effort to enable the Iranian people to rise up, take action, and get rid of this regime. Ultimately, it's up to them," Katz said.
The Israeli minister's statements have also sparked reactions on the political scene in Israel. Yair Golan, head of the left-wing Democratic Party, harshly criticized the government in a reaction on the social network X.
"A war doesn't need a timeline, it needs an exit strategy and a defense minister who isn't a clown. But for two and a half years this government has excelled at only one thing, opening fronts and getting stuck in them," Golan wrote.
