Russian minister reassures Europe: Russia does not have atomic bombs
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Russia is always open to an equal and sincere partnership with all countries, guided by the principles of the United Nations Charter, and there are no nations hostile to it, neither in the West nor in the East, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"As President (of Russia) Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized, including during his speech at the Victory Parade on May 9, 2023, there are no enemy nations for us, neither in the West nor in the East. We always remain open to sincere and equal partnership with all those who, like us, are guided by their national interests and build interstate cooperation on the principles of the UN Charter," Lavrov said in a video address to participants of the Moscow International Cooperation Forum, TASS reports.

Lavrov stressed that Russia continues to develop as a "modern state interested in broad and depoliticized international cooperation."

"Today, when the global situation is still tense, people-to-people exchanges and dialogue between scientists, cultural figures and athletes are especially important for improving the situation. We welcome such efforts," Lavrov added.

He stressed that the presence of many foreign guests at the forum is "clear proof that Russia really has many reliable friends" who share Russian values and try to better understand how to live in that country.
