Photos of the murdered students were placed in empty seats on the plane during the journey to the Iran-US talks.
Peace talks between Iran and the United States have begun in Islamabad, Pakistan. However, Tehran sent a strong symbolic message by arriving on the “Minab-168” plane, a direct reference to the 168 people, most of them young girls, who were killed when a missile hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in the Iranian city of Minab on February 28, the first day of the war.
During the flight, photographs of the slain students were placed in empty passenger seats. Alongside them were bloody school bags, shoes and other personal belongings of the victims of the attack.

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who leads the Iranian delegation in these talks, published a photo from this commemoration on the X platform, writing: "My friends on this flight."
Iranian state broadcaster IRIB also published footage from inside the plane in X, accompanied by the caption: "Passengers of the Iranian plane, to remind the delegation on whose behalf they are negotiating: the murdered school children in Minab and their bloody bags."

The attack on the Minab school is considered one of the most serious episodes of the initial phase of the conflict. Iranian authorities have accused US forces of responsibility for this attack. On the other hand, US military officials have stated that the double airstrike may have been unintentional. US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has confirmed that an investigation is underway, but its results have not yet been published.
