Serbian munitions in Ukraine, Moscow puts Belgrade under "monitoring"!

Russia appears to have put Serbia under surveillance regarding its arms sales to Ukraine. Despite Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's statement that Serbia has stopped sending weapons to Ukraine, Russia is showing suspicion.

The director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, said that Moscow believes Belgrade when it says it is suspending arms exports, but added that it plans to "verify" whether this has been done.

" As far as I understand, an answer was given yesterday. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić gave a speech and issued a statement saying that Serbia is suspending, or even completely banning, arms exports. We will verify this ," Naryshkin said, answering a question about what reaction Moscow expects from Belgrade after the SVR reports on Serbian military supplies to Ukraine.

On June 23, Russia's SVR again reported that Belgrade is using indirect channels to export military products to Ukraine and is increasing supplies to Kiev's armed forces.

According to the SVR, ammunition produced at Serbian defense enterprises, mainly for heavy long-range weapons, is being transferred to NATO countries in the form of complete sets of components for assembly.

"This allows Kiev to officially receive not weapons produced in Serbia, but armaments assembled in factories in Western countries. The ammunition is assembled mainly in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. Serbian manufacturers are fully aware of who the end users are and that their missiles and shells will be used to kill Russian servicemen and civilians. For centuries, a common faith has united the Serbian and Russian peoples, inspiring them to stand together against common enemies. It is a pity that this tradition of friendship and mutual support is now being betrayed in the name of profit and cowardly opportunism," the SVR stated.

On the same day, the Serbian Ministry of Defense officially confirmed the decision to suspend exports of weapons and military equipment manufactured in the republic. According to the ministry's statement, the suspension is being implemented on the instructions of the Serbian president and will require mandatory approval by the National Security Council for any future shipments.

Earlier, President Aleksandar Vučić announced that Serbia had completely banned the export of ammunition and that all such products are now reserved exclusively for the needs of the Serbian army. He added that future exports will be possible only in exceptional cases and subject to special authorization, noting that the previous system, where two ministers could jointly approve exports, has been discontinued.
