The lawyer of the well-known Greek businessman Christos Gialia who was executed two nights ago in the area known as "Mandra" has given shocking details of the serious event, stressing that the killers felt very safe, but also very lucky while committing the crime .
According to him, the perpetrators followed and executed the businessman in a frequented area and near the house where his bodyguards were located.
"They felt safe, but also lucky since everything happened near the house where any of his bodyguards would go at any moment. It seems strange that they had such courage, but they also left a mark by facilitating the work of the police", he said in the Greek media.
The police are gathering all the facts by asking his partners as well. It is learned that the businessman was talking on the phone when the killers cut his way. During the phone call, he said briefly: "Help! They are killing me."
The Blues of Athens have learned that the other accomplice was just a few minutes behind Gialia's car and arrived there very quickly, but everything was over after the killers had set fire to the car with the victim inside after the execution.
The house as a fortress
Gialia was defending himself, for reasons that the police do not yet know. He lived in a house converted into a fortress and under heavy surveillance with cameras and guards. Also, the house had high defensive walls as well as an observation tower.
All these could not save the businessman from execution.
The police suspect that his murder happened within the framework of the mafia war in Greece, which for 6-7 years has brought a large number of people killed in Athens and other big cities.
