Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed once again that Israel will continue to fight Hamas until the end, despite growing international pressure.

He told his cabinet today that the country will achieve all goals including the release of more than 100 hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza.

The Israeli prime minister is under increasing pressure to end an offensive that the Hamas-run health ministry says has killed an estimated 19,000 Palestinians in Gaza.

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron stepped up the pressure as he and his German counterpart called for a lasting ceasefire.

And with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visiting this week, Netanyahu may be asked further to end the most intense phase of the war yet.
