Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he has held secret meetings with leaders of Arab countries in the past, warning them about Iran's ambitions, the Israeli newspaper "Maariv" reported.
According to this report, Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting that several Arab countries are considering a common stance against Tehran, as part of the formation of new alliances in the region.
" In the past, I have held secret talks with Arab leaders. I have told them: 'As soon as Iran has the opportunity, it will invade you and overthrow your kingdoms.' They did not fully understand the magnitude of the threat then. Today they do ," he said.
At the same time, Israel's ambassador to Washington, Yehiel Leiter, stated in a podcast that several Gulf countries have sought Israel's support, highlighting the strengthening of relations over the recent period.
" Some of our allies have become even closer over the last month ," he said, citing countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait as part of this rapprochement.
Leiter added that these countries have turned to Israel for help and hinted that forms of joint cooperation are being considered. " Israel and its allies will continue to act. This could have a real impact in the future ," he declared.
