A serious incident occurred this morning in Bergamo, where a teacher was stabbed in the neck by a 13-year-old student.
According to reports from Italian media, the attack occurred in the hallway of the "Via Damiano Chiesa" high school, a few minutes before the start of class, at around 07:45.
The injured person is Chiara Mocchi, 57, a French teacher. She was taken to hospital and is in critical condition.
Police forces intervened at the scene and launched investigations to clarify the circumstances. The minor was escorted and then placed in custody.
During a search of his bag, the carabinieri found a device used to remove bullets. Authorities also noted that he was wearing a T-shirt with the words "Vengeance" written on it.
The students' parents were informed about the incident through internal communications. "We learned what happened from a message from the class representative and I rushed to check on my daughter. We know that only three children saw the incident. They told us that this boy stabbed the teacher," the parents said.
Authorities are continuing their investigations to uncover the motives and full dynamics of the attack.
