Rare revelations from the US President's niece, Kay Trump, about her daily life under 24-hour Secret Service protection.

Donald Trump's eldest granddaughter, 18-year-old Kai, shared her experience of trying to go on dates while being watched by Secret Service agents.

Dating can be a challenge even under the best of circumstances, but one thing that can ruin the atmosphere is knowing that two armed guards are sitting a few feet away while you ask your partner if they prefer cats or dogs.

On the other hand, if the meeting goes badly and you want someone to leave, then the presence of two Secret Service agents may be a better solution than thinking about jumping out of the bathroom window.

Kai has agents following her everywhere she goes, and she spoke openly about the effect this has on her in an appearance on the podcast Impaulsive with Logan Paul.

"It's very awkward when you're sitting on a date with a guy and he's sitting two tables behind you, it's a little weird," the golfer said, adding "I try not to let it bother me."

She spoke openly about how she has adapted since her grandfather became president.

"I think I've learned, especially in the last year, it's been almost a year since he became president, that I've had to learn... yes, they're following me, but also to focus and pretend they're not there," he said.

But overall, she said she generally tries to ignore the fact that she is followed by armed guards.

"It's there, but if you try not to focus on it and enjoy your time more with friends, family, whatever it is, it becomes easier.

"Because, during those first few months, it was hard. It wasn't easy to have someone following you around all the time and having to plan when you were going to go out, saying, 'Oh, I'm leaving in five minutes,'" she says.

Of course, this was a big change from a more normal life, where you don't have armed guards and don't need to carefully plan your day.

"You don't really think about these things, because if you live a normal life, you just leave the house and run away, you don't have to plan every second," Kai said.

However, in the end, she showed that she managed to ignore the bodyguards.

"It was a little difficult, but I think once I realized that their only job was to protect me, I decided to focus on myself and let them do their job. That made it a lot easier," she concluded.
