Media outlets have published footage of the gun attack that occurred at a school in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey.
In the videos that have been shared, moments are shown when frightened students jump from the windows of the building to escape danger and the gunfire.
According to media reports, four people were killed in the attack: three students and a teacher. The suspected perpetrator is an eighth-grade student from the same school, who also died.
The incident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
The incident took place at around 1:30 p.m. at Ayser Çalık High School in the Onikişubat neighborhood. Four of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
The perpetrator, an eighth-grade student at the same school, allegedly opened fire in two classrooms, causing panic and chaos.
According to authorities, he had entered the school armed with five guns and seven magazines in his bag, which allegedly belonged to his father, a former police officer.
"The shooter killed himself by shooting himself during the chaos. He was an 8th grader and his father is a former police officer. We believe he brought the weapons with him. He came to school with 5 guns and 7 magazines," authorities said.
