President Donald Trump, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, declared that today is one of the greatest days of all time, adding that he had spoken closely with Netanyahu about achieving peace in the Middle East.
"We are working closely with Bibi Netanyahu to achieve peace in the Middle East. This is potentially one of the greatest days of all time in civilization ," Trump said.
Trump further thanked Netanyahu for "agreeing with the plan" he proposed, while emphasizing that to reach this stage there were meetings with "many countries" to discuss the proposal, including the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
Hamas is the only remaining group that disagrees with the White House's plan for Gaza. Trump thanked a number of world leaders for helping to make his Gaza peace plan a reality, and said they would be key to a "deal" with Hamas. Trump added that if Hamas does not agree, Israel will have the "full support" of the United States to "do what it has to do."
" I hope we will have a peace agreement and, if Hamas rejects the agreement, which is always possible, they are the only ones left. Everyone else has accepted it. But, I have a feeling that we will have a positive response ," Trump said.
The US President further stated that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will be included in the transitional government of Gaza. According to Trump, Blair will be tasked with training and creating the new post-war government of Gaza.
