US President Donald Trump has announced a 100% tariff on all films shot outside American soil.

Trump accused other countries of "stealing" the United States' film industry, comparing the practice to "taking candy from a baby."

He said California has been hit hardest, which he attributed to the "weakness and incompetence" of the local governor.

According to him, the tariff decision is a response to a "long and never-ending problem" that undermines the American film industry.

"Thank you for your attention to this issue," he said, ending with the slogan "Make America Great Again."
