Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that Turkey is for a peaceful solution in Ukraine and is ready to continue mediation on this path.
He also emphasized that he hopes that Donald Trump's coming to power will change the US approach to the war in Ukraine and that a peace agreement will be reached as soon as possible.
" We are ready to take any mediating role between the parties [in conflict]. We both want it and have the ability to do it. I very much hope that the new US administration will take bolder and more constructive towards peace.
Ukraine is our neighbor. Russia is also our neighbor. And we want to maintain relations with both. I hope we can reach a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible. This is how we will be able to achieve peace as a whole, the planet is waiting ," Erdogan said.
