One person was killed in an Israeli drone strike on a car in the southern Lebanese town of Khiam on Sunday morning, while four others were wounded in separate attacks, a medical source told the Guardian.
Israel carried out at least 40 airstrikes in southern Lebanon in the early hours of Sunday morning, saying it was a pre-emptive action against a future attack by Hezbollah. Hezbollah then launched a barrage of rockets and drones into Israel in retaliation for the killing of its top military commander, Fouad Shukur, a month earlier.
Israel continued to carry out airstrikes in Lebanon into the morning as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with his security cabinet.
