On the day that the Ukrainian Air Force announced that it will not be able to use F-16 fighter jets this fall and winter, Kiev has announced the downing of a Russian helicopter near Zaporizhzhia.
During the morning, the Ukrainian armed forces shot down the second Russian Ka-5 helicopter in the region in question. This was reported by Rbc-Ukraine citing the 47th army brigade.
Kiev troops have also scored successes south of Urozhayne in the Donetsk region, where they consolidated their positions.
The spokesman of the general staff of the armed forces of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalev, said on live television that they had regained territory.
"Ukrainian defense forces continue to carry out offensive operations in the direction of Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk. In the southern Urozhayne direction they were successful, consolidating their positions, artillery attacks on enemy targets and carrying out measures against batteries", he explained, adding that the Russians carried out unsuccessful offensives in the Avdiivka and Maryinka areas.
So, Russia claims that its air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian drone over the Belgorod region.
