The wave of unprecedented attacks launched by Iran towards Israel lasted around five hours.
US President Joe Biden will meet G7 leaders this Sunday to coordinate a joint diplomatic response to Iran, following its unprecedented attack on Israel.
In a statement by Biden distributed by the White House, it was said that so far there have been no threats against US facilities and that the situation is being monitored.
" My team will engage with their counterparts across the region. And we will stay in close contact with Israel's leaders. Austin has asked his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, to notify the US before any possible response to the Iranian attack.
Biden also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu after Saturday's attack to reaffirm America's ironclad commitment to Israel's security.
But according to a senior White House official, Biden has made it clear to Netanyahu that the US will not participate in any offensive operation against Iran.
" I told him that Israel demonstrated an extraordinary capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks — sending a clear message to its enemies that they cannot effectively threaten Israel's security ," the president wrote.
In his first public comments since the attack began, Benjamin Netanyahu posted a brief statement about X, saying: “ We waited and pushed back. Together we will win" .
While currently the situation seems calmer and the intensity of the attacks has decreased. Even a few minutes ago, Israel announced the opening of its airspace.
" Israel reopened its airspace as of 7:30 a.m. local time Sunday ," the country's airports authority said.
