
The Basic Prosecutor's Office in Skopje has issued an investigation order against eight people who are suspected of endangering the safety of air traffic in Skopje, when on January 4 they " obstructed services at the airport, endangering the safety of air traffic".
It is about an event that happened on January 4, when some unauthorized people forcibly entered the premises of the institution that directs the flight of airplanes from the international airport of North Macedonia, where there was a physical fight.
According to the suspicions, these persons endangered the international air traffic when 28 flights were taking place in Macedonian airspace.
"With their actions, they threatened the safety of international air traffic at a time when 28 flights under the control of M-NAV were taking place in the country's airspace, so it is suspected that they have committed a criminal offense punishable by at least five years in prison," say The prosecution.
The Macedonian media announced that Bekim Neziri, the former Minister of Economy in North Macedonia who is currently the head of the DUI branch in Çair, has been arrested. He is accused of allowing people from outside to enter M-NAV, who then physically attacked employees during working hours. Three more people involved in the January 4 incident have been arrested, the Macedonia clan reports
The event has caused many reactions from all the institutions of North Macedonia.
Meanwhile, the director of this state institution for the control of civil flights, (M-NAV) Fahrudin Hamidi said that he is ready to cooperate with the authorities for the complete clarification of the case. Hamidi said that he did not communicate either yesterday or today with his adviser, Bekim Nezir, who attacked the employees in the M-Nav radar tower with seven other people. He said that the head of the union has thrown "gasoline on the fire" by applying pressure with a strike and blocking the country's airspace, with the cancellation of the last competition for employment, which became ominous to break out fists in M-Nav.
