Venezuelan police must find and arrest anyone who helped the US capture Nicolas Maduro.
This is according to the text of a state of emergency decree that has been in effect since Saturday, but was only published today.
US media reported over the weekend that a CIA source within the Venezuelan government monitored Maduro's whereabouts in the days leading up to the operation, citing people briefed on it.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a statement to the UN Security Council that he is "deeply concerned about the potential intensification of instability" in Venezuela due to the US attack.
The statement was read at the extraordinary session of this body right now by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo.
While acknowledging that democracy had long been "undermined" in the country, Guterres asserted that it was important to respect the principles of sovereignty and the "rule of law."
"I welcome and stand ready to support all efforts aimed at helping Venezuelans find a peaceful way forward," Guterres added.
