Tehran says the focus of the talks is not the nuclear program, but ending the war and stopping Israeli attacks in the region.

Iran states that some progress has been achieved on some of the issues being discussed with the United States to end the war, but estimates that an agreement is not yet "imminent", mainly due to a lack of credibility with Washington.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei spoke at a press conference on the main points of a possible agreement between Iran and the US to stop the conflict. "It is fair to say that we have reached conclusions on a large part of the issues being discussed," he said.

Baghaei continued, "but to say that this means that the signing of an agreement is imminent? No one can make such a statement."

According to information circulating, the possible draft of the agreement provides for the extension of the ceasefire for 60 days, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international ships and the continuation of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, which remains one of the most controversial issues.

However, the agreement must be approved by the Iranian leadership, including Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who reportedly remains difficult to contact, which could delay the process.

Baghaei also questioned the credibility of the US, stating that there are no "guarantees" that Washington will respect any agreement that might be reached.

He recalled that both the current war between the US, Israel and Iran, as well as the 12-day conflict launched by Israel last June, occurred during the period when Tehran and Washington were holding talks on the Iranian nuclear program.

According to the Iranian spokesman, the focus of the current phase of negotiations is not the "nuclear issue" but "ending the war," including the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
