Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, following Trump and Putin's conversation, highlighted several points in his response to the communication between the leaders.
The Ukrainian leader said he expects to have a "conversation with President Trump" where he will see the "details" of the US president's conversation with Putin, but he gave no timeline for when this would happen.
Zelensky further called on President Putin to release all Ukrainian prisoners of war as a demonstration of goodwill.
The Ukrainian president also said that Ukrainian troops will remain in Russia's Kursk region "for as long as we need."
"Now we need to understand what the details of this agreement are. We don't know them. Without Ukraine, these things simply cannot be realistic," he said.
Speaking about the mobilization part, a request made by Putin, Zelensky said that the Russian leader is not talking in humanitarian terms, but aims " to make our army smaller and weaker."
