The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, charging him with genocide in Gaza.
According to the Turkish prosecutor's document, Israel has systematically committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people, including women and children, thousands more being injured, and homes and facilities being rendered uninhabitable.
Arrest warrants have been issued for a total of 37 people, including the Israeli Defense Minister and the Chief of the Armed Forces.
At the same time, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office opened an ex officio investigation into crimes committed against individuals who participated in the flotilla transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza.
