"He was working 2 jobs"/ The details of the journalist's death
Antonis Chrysoulakis

New details have emerged from the tragic death of journalist Antonis Chrysoulakis, who was burned in the premises of his apartment that was engulfed in flames in the center of Athens.

In addition to working in the media, the journalist also worked in a bar to supplement his income. He returned to his home and there he learned that there had been a fire in an abandoned building in the center of Athens and for journalistic interest he went to the scene to cover the case, Greek media reports.

Later he returned to his house and put on the stove to heat the food. But it seems the fatigue was great and he soon fell asleep on the sofa in his living room. The food he had set out to heat caused the whole apartment to catch fire and the place to be filled with smoke.

The journalist was found dead inside the apartment, causing great sadness to his family members.

His uncle Antonis Chrysoulakis in a statement to the media said that the family members are shocked.

"We lost him, he was an only child. We are shocked. Father took us and told us. He came from work and fell asleep," said the journalist's uncle.

The journalist received some burns, but not seriously, and it is believed that he died of asphyxiation from the smoke. He was transported by ambulance to the "Georgios Gennimatas" hospital, where the doctors concluded that he had passed away.
